Today is my Saturday. I spent an extra hour in bed this morning snuggling with my partner and my kitty. It was pretty glorious.
My neck is still quite sore from being hit by the car earlier this week so that sucks, I'm going to take it easy and let it heal if I can.
I love the way Yolandi has her hair short and messy upfront and long in the back. I'm not on the super bleach blond boat these days. I'm thinking of a more medium blond, the bleach just melts my hair and looks super obvious when growing in. I think something more golden would suit me better. I often go back and forth between black and blond. It really destroys your hair to get black out. I don't recommend it unless you are a professional.
I already have long blond Jumbo Braid extensions in the back and along the sides of my head. I spent all afternoon yesterday taking them out on the sides. My plan is to start slowly replacing the Jumbo braid with real hair once I have the basic look I want and if I have enough real hair gathered.
Right now I have to section off my hair and put in real hair extensions to get the length and style I want. Then I will tone it all one color. Since I'm using real hair each section will be slightly different, but I'm hoping that will look kinda neat. We will see won't we?
If it looks awful I will bleach it all over in a week or so and try again. I always wait a week in-between major chemical exposure. It's good to let the hair heal.
I of course won't have the straight across bangs like she has, but I think I can recreate the spirit of her style without coping it completely. It's going to be different simply because I have dreadlocks.
